So what happens now?

It's been a little less than two weeks since Torn Between Two Worlds made it's debut into the world. I still can't completely wrap my head around it. Not on the fact that it's published, and not on the fact at how well it appears to be doing. Being with a small press I can ask to see numbers, but I can't just simply see them.

So how can I tell it's selling? My sales rank. I've developed a pattern. Mornings  chill around 80-90k. Afternoons I get nice and cozy between 42k-54k and then at night it sinks to around 80-90 again. Why yes, I was screenshot happy when I ranked internationally and even when I was just rising and falling over and over again in America. So I figure, why not take a looksie. I had the pleasure and fortune to rank (even if just for an hour lol) in Canada, UK, Australia and America.
The next step is getting reviews to come in so I had hit the ground hard on promo. I've got 3 amazing reviews but 95% of  the promo sites require 10; and typically ten 5-star ones as well. So I'm looking for reviews! Whether you loved it or hated it, 1-star or 5-stars, please leave a review! And if you haven't grabbed your copy...well, what are you waiting for?

If you live in any other country click this link below:
Amazon International (all countries)
The book is also apart of the amazing KindleUnlimited program too!
I'm currently working on a surprise Christmas series that you'll get more info on soon! Also, the Alliance of Silver and Steam covers are sexy and up! Release dates shortly on those too! Love the cover? Check out the fantastic Design2Media then!

I honestly have no idea where to start. Today is a day that I've been dreaming about since I was in second grade and decided I wanted to be an author. I didn't know then that it was a daunting task filled with so many different emotional journey's I would want to scream and cry and jump for joy all at once. But today, eighteen years, I've learned that.

A bored little seventh grader dreamed up a world where the book characters could be real; could protect her from things. Until I was 20 I had that fizzling in the back of my mind. Pretending it could be a really good book idea. Then last August I decided it was finally time to write it. Time to tell the story I'd randomly been dreaming for most of my life.

I may have always known I wanted to be a writer, but I didn't have the drive, or maybe it was the guts, to make it happen. I went to undergrad at UC Riverside for Creative Writing. I was told so many things by wonderful, and honestly, not so wonderful professors. More than once I'd been told that genre writing was a different ballgame than literary fiction and considered "smut". So I learned how to write brilliantly boring literary fiction - don't get me wrong I know some people love it, but it's just not enough for me.

I never had the drive to finish anything though because I got it in my mind that it wasn't being a real author. While I didn't let it get me down I did let it push me to pursue my second love, journalism and PR. Not a horrible thing but when I found myself unemployed and looking for something to do I decided it was time to finish just one of the few stories I'd started. Torn Between Two Worlds was the only one that made sense to finish.

A little less than a year later, I'm getting to say hello to my book being brought out into the world. I submitted to a publishing house that I knew was the right fit for me, and thankfully they felt the same. For the past 5 months I've been schooled in promo photos, cover  creation, book trailers, Amazon stuff and more. Now it's time to see if I did any of it right ;)

I want to take a moment and thank all the people that I never could have done this with out. Thank you first and foremost to my private school librarian - Miss Burns. Without you I may never have even tried to write, my never have known how. To SJ Davis, thank you so incredibly much for taking a risk on a me. I hope to not let you, and Hot Ink Press, down. To my rockstar editor, Elizabeth, thank you. I don't think I will ever forget to have a man clean himself ever again! (P.S. I totally checked Nightmare in Steam after that convo to make sure everything was squeaky clean!). Thank you to Skye, Catherine, Mariana, Randi and Frances for holding my hand at various steps along the way to learn how to market and release this book. Thank you so much to Joe for his incredible gift that means more than he knows. A special thanks to Riley for my beautiful (and sexy) cover - Ciara and Stryder are exactly how I pictured them! And lastly, thank you to everyone outside my lit family who have been going on this journey and supporting me.
Now for some fun! Click below to grab your very own copy of Torn Between Two Worlds and check out the slideshow of my favorite promo images!

I'm so excited to be doing this today! Thank you so much to my awesome lit sister- K.R. Wilburn for inviting me to be apart of this! I'm predominately a paranormal romance author but thanks to some wonderful anthologies I've gotten to try out some contemporary and even a YA! My heart will always belong to the sexy things that go bump in the night though so I'd say 90% of my work is in my main genre. Feel free to take a look around and learn more! Without any more chatter here's the answer to my questions!

-Currently working on?
I've recently fallen into the category of one of those authors that has to have a million projects going at once to keep my muse quite. I'm currently working on: -edits for my steampunk series book 1, Nightmare in
                                                                                Steam.
                                                                               - A YA steampunk submission for Cogs in Time 2
                                                                               - A steamy holiday romance
-Outlining and drafting a military contemporary
                                                                                 piece
- How does my work differ from others in its genre?
I think its the heroes in my work that differ from most in the paranormal romance genre. The men aren't always supernatural and quite a few of them are the anti hero. I think the alpha male has his place in the world but I like to show men of all personality types can set a woman on fire.

-Why do I write what I do?
I've always been a huge reader and dreamed of writing since the second grade. But my ideas always seemed so much older than I was. In my sophomore year in school I came across an end cap display in Borders for Sherrilyn Kenyon. It was back in 2004 and she only had 4 books on it - Fantasy Lover and  the first 3 official Dark Hunter books. I fell absolutely in love with her books and the idea of creating my own twist on the paranormals existing in literature and movies already. As for the romance? I'll say it was part day dreaming of my own Stryder from first release, Torn Between Two Worlds, and having all my favorite authors come from that genre. Ironic since I have a bad habit of skipping the romance for the plot but I love the stories.

-How does my writing process work?
I have OCD - so that means even my muse likes to plan. I'll get an idea in my head and my muse will pester the heck out of me until I write down an outline. The outline is fairly basic. It indicated who's narrating and the general concept of the section. Then I sit down and write. I'm a huge believer in setting goals and sticking to them to ensure you don't slack off. Once I'm going I naturally tweak the outline and change a million things but my muse seems to be ok so long as I do the initial outline. I'm not one of those cool people who can write in sections so I write from beginning to end, in boring old fashion.

Thanks for hanging out with me today! Next week, July 21, 2014 check out the posts being done by these lovely authors!
