You might remember that a little over a year ago, I released a book with this same title! No, you aren't going crazy, and no it's not just a cover change. Between Realms released January 31, 2023 as 25,000 word new adult novella. That book was always shared that it would only be around for a year before it got a huge facelift! That facelifted book releases today! What's new? I'm glad you asked! This facelift was so much more than just a stunning new cover, but let's start there. Check out this beautiful cover and a blurb tweaked to fit the smutty adult market the book now inhabits. Astrid went to sleep after her father’s death in Ireland and woke up in New York City. She’s never felt she belonged in her new life, but her family refused to speak about “before”. A spur of the moment decision quitting her job opens up the chance to return to Ireland and try to put together the pieces she can’t remember. Until an actual unicorn appears in her kitchen, and she has no desire to remember anything. Ronin would give his life for the king, but masquerading as a human to protect his daughter is almost too much. Astrid isn’t safe in their realm thanks to her human blood, and Ronin can't seem to ignore the unicorn blood coursing through her veins any more than he could resist her beauty. When betrayal strikes, Astrid learns she doesn’t belong with the unicorns anymore than she did with the humans. When the lies of the past put Astrid in danger, she has to trust Ronin to protect her. Ronin can’t decide if the best place for Astrid is in his realm or hers. He just knows he wants to be by her side, even if it means losing part of himself or herself to make their connection work. A war is coming and she won't be safe there, but sending her home alone isn't an option. Astrid’s forgotten past is within her reach. Robin’s greatest mission is to protect a princess who doesn’t belong while a war brews in the background. They’ll have to reconcile in order to keep peace within the Realm of the Fae. A new cover and new blurb are not enough to qualify this as a new release, so what else happened?
While I know this is a very unique new release, I hope you'll take a journey with Ronin and Astrid in this trope-filled romantasy!

Everything changes when you get undergroundOUT NOW and in KU! The battle for freedom, love, and salvation begins, and the Shadow Guard are all who stood between the end of humanity and the beginning of a new life. Hey book lovers! I am thrilled to announce the release of my newest book, The Underground (The Underground book 1). This book has been a labor of love, and I am beyond excited to share it with all of you. Get ready to embark on a thrilling journey into the depths of mystery and adventure as you delve into Trinity's journey to save the world from itself. Trinity Jane knew no other life than one on the run. Her parents found her in a dumpster as a child and took her into their chaotic lifestyle as the leaders of a resistance movement to return balance and acceptance back to a world torn apart. She was human, but raised to believe co-existence through large-scale violence was the way to win the war. One day, she would take over the resistance, and she would lead the world into its next era. Andre ha loved Trinity since they were teens. He'd sworn to stand by her side at all costs. Wielding control over air, he's by her side as she descends into the depths to create an alliance. Nothing mattered except stopping the war around them, because he refused to raise a family in the hellish world they were in. Sampson liked very little about the vicious way the world turned. He might be a wolf, but he longed for a life where he could spend his days on the waves as he had before the chip. When a human forces her way into his tunnels, he's not only attracted to her looks, but the plan she offers. Viktor hated life in the shadows - hated the blood he needed to survive even more. He was only a vampire thanks to his family's wealth and a stash of illegal chips. As the current ruler of the New York City nest, he held more power in a single word than most people alive. Power he would trade in a heartbeat for the human woman he'd encountered five years ago to return to him. Amidst the chaos, a complex web of relationships forms within the resistance, transcending the conventional bonds of romance. Trinity finds herself at the center of a burgeoning harem, as she forms deep connections with the enigmatic members of the Shadow Guard. Their shared destiny intertwines their fates, leads to a passionate alliance, and a heart breaking betrayal as they seek to destroy the underground. What are early reviews saying? I'm so glad you asked! What Started The Underground? If you follow me on TikTok, you may have seen videos of me commuting in and out of NYC.- mostly for work, but sometimes for fun! One day, when stuck in the River Tunnel, which it's a freaking DEAD ZONE, my brain started to wonder what it would be like if things really did live in the underground of every big city. From there it was a battle between vampires and wolves. Then I thought, what if something caused the people to go underground? i can tell you, it's got to be the most productive stop I've ever had in the last two years. Don't forget the prequel! Shiny and NewI have a shiny, new street team! Do you know why street teams are awesome? I'll tell you! From teasers to giveaways, and free reads to controlling elements of books, there's so many fun perks in a street team. Mine is in the "infant" stage, but I've got so much planned. Want to join? Follow this link! If you've followed me for a little, you know that every year I say my goal for my business side is this blog. This very one that I type in at this exact moment. And I mean it. I truly do. But as a self published author, my life is so much more than just "write and edit the books". It's: Write the books Edit the books Format the books Make promo graphics Set up ARC teams Market on multiple platforms Manage marketing on social/email/etc Keep a street team Go to events And the list goes on and on. While I do not regret going the self-pub route back in 2019 after time with an amazing small press, it does make it so much harder to do all the things with a full time job and a family. So this is my annual post about this blog, but this time, I'm just saying mae culpa. I'll start off strong, I know I will. Then it'll taper into release announcments, then just into nothingness. It's not because I don't care to update this, it's because finding the time in the day is so much harder with my day job and my child who needs to go here, there and everywhere. So in advance, forgive me when, not if, I fail again this year. What matters most to me is the stories and providing readers an escape. So while my blog may die out now and again, my social media presence does not. Come and hang out with me where there's fresh content, but also actual engagement and fun times. Until next time, stay safe and keep reading!
Not your average once upon a time!I'm so excited to announce a brand new world that I have the pleasure of writing in! Some fantastic author friends and I are teaming up to twist some fairy tales! Thta's right, we're focusing on some of your favorite tales and giving them a m/m twist! Check out how stunning these covers are! What's even cooler? This is all the stories in the world! These are the just the ones to get us started. Come on, let's take a closer look at mine, you know you want to! Hello Jack in the Beanstalk! That's right, I'm taking something a little less mainstream and reimagining the world. While the giant will remain the villian (yeah, I wasn't going to go there), there may or may not be a shifter sidekick turned lover. I don't want to give too much away, but go and check the worlds out! Jackson's world is on the brink of collapse. In a desperate attempt to save his livelihood, he stumbles upon a mysterious opportunity: seeds that promise to grant his every need. With nothing to lose, he accepts the offer and climbs the massive stalk that promises freedom of ruin at it's peak. Facing his curiosity head-on, Jackson discovers a gargantuan land teeming with unimaginable wonders. A land that holds the promise of saving his farm and restoring his prosperity. Little does he know, this enchanted realm is also home to Barrett, an alluring man with a hidden past and access to powerful magic.
Barrett wants a way to return home. A way he gladly takes in the handsome farmer who came from below. Drawn together by fate, Jackson and Barrett form an unlikely alliance, that doesn't shatter when they find themselves victim to the same giant king that stole Barrett years ago. Together, they think they can flee and save both their worlds - one in the sky, one down below. The pair faces a stark choice: remain in a land that clings to ashes or embrace the unknown and redefine their destinies. Together, they must confront their deepest fears, overcome impossible odds, and rewrite the fate of two realms while ignoring the passion building between them every step of the way. Stalked by the Giant is an MM retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk with an entire realm on the brink of war and a small town farmer with a debt to prove. The Portal to Camelot is Open1 woman. 3 men. a realm to save. Scroll on to purchase and read an exclusive blog NSWF scene! Today marks a huge day for me! It's the release of my first new series since 2019 when I began the Christmas Fairy Tale retellings. While I've also written Lost in Wonder which accidentally will be a duology, this is the first intentional multi-book series in 4 years. While Gwendolyn's ARC is a trilogy, it's my hope that readers will love the world and will allow me to introduce a second trilogy as well. While it's far too early to tell, I'm so excited to start something new with readers. Since I've already explained why I've started a new journey in Camelot, I'll skip the explanation and get to the good stuff - the purchase links and the NSFW scene! The realm and knights of Camelot need a savior, and Gwendolyn wants a new life. Gwendolyn Penn spent her life wishing for a different life in a different reality. She longed to live alongside the Knights of Camelot, to slay dragons, wear gowns, and fall in love with a handsome, courageous man. When a portal opens and a man steps through claiming to be Merlin with a prophecy stating Gwen is his kingdom's savior, she doesn't hesitate to run with him. To Camelot. Morgana wants Arthur's throne, and a vision placed Gwen at the heart of the battle. She doesn't understand how a boring, human woman could slay a sorceress. Until Merlin's blood mingles with hers and she can command the magic of the fae. Until she realizes her attraction to the three men unlocks a side of her she didn't know existed. A side that might defeat Morgana. Surrounded by Merlin, Arthur, and Lancelot, Gwen learns there's more to Camelot than the tales tell. There’s more to her than the quiet librarian, as well. Her heart wants what her heart wants, and Gwen is going to listen to it no matter who it leads her to. Gwen needs her magic to be enough. Gwen needs her attraction to not one, but three, men to not distract her as she learns to wield her magic. Gwen needs to save Camelot. NSFW Lifting her head slightly, Gwen pressed her lips against Lancelot’s, reveling in the immediate sparks rushing through her at the simple contact. His hands moved from her face over her body. He did not grab her. Lancelot’s touch remained light as his hands found their way to Gwen’s hips.
She continued to hold control, something she did not expect from a man like Lancelot. Her hands wound around his neck and pulled him close as their kiss began to stroke her desires. “Lancelot,” she breathed against his lips, momentarily stopping their kiss to pull away. “I’m sorry.” “Never apologize for kissing me. Ever,” with a growl his lips went to her throat, suckling the column of her neck as his fingers dug into her hips. Gwen moved forward, her legs instinctively sliding open as Lancelot’s hands passed over her thighs. “You’re so much more beautiful than I ever dared believe you could be.” His touch remained light as he brushed across the crotch of her pants. “So different from the women here.” “Do they not all throw themselves at you?” Her panted words were likely hard to understand. Lancelot chuckled. “Well, I cannot say that,” he pressed against her core through the pants, rubbing with firmer strokes. Stars exploded behind Gwen’s eyes and she moaned. His mouth returned to its gentle exploration of her body, cupping her breast through the top as his hands did down below. “Lancelot.” “Yes?” He shoved her shirt up and dropped a kiss over her belly button. “I’ve been with Merlin.” “That is fine, the sorcerer is a noble man. He is not me, though.” His breath somehow caressed her despite her pants as his head stopped between her thighs. Gwen’s eyes moved to his fingers and watched as they pulled her zipper down. She arched off the bed to assist when his hands went to the waistband. He slide them down gently, a hand following behind the pants and running over her bare skin. His eyes shined with lust seconds before his head returned between her thighs. The stroke of his tongue over her underwear drew a moan from Gwen. She felt more than heard his chuckle before he did it a second time. She whimpered under the pressure, her hips sliding forward to beg him for more. “I believe I will make this more memorable than your sorcerer.” This time, his tongue pressed into the fabric, spearing her. “You’re already so ready for me, aren’t you?” She couldn’t speak from the desire coursing through every centimeter of her body. Lancelot’s fingers hooked the leg of her underwear and tugged them to the side. The wet slide of his tongue drew her butt off the bed and her hands into his hair. His nose rubbed over her engorged clit, and Gwen had no need to buck her hips to draw more from the knight. The room began to spin as Lancelot tasted her, his tongue alternating between swirls, thrusts, and long deliberate slides. Her entire body trembled with every stroke. Whimpers pulled past her lips between panted breaths as Lancelot made good on his promise. “Lancelot,” she gasped her hands knotting in his hair and pushed him against her, driving his tongue deeper. “Fuck,” her head fell back. “I intend we get there as well,” he spoke against her core, his tongue teasing her in maddening ways. She gasped as her eyes fell shut. “Now, Lancelot.” She wasn’t certain if she commanded him to continue his oral assault or urged him to sink inside of her. “I will give My Lady anything she wishes.” His tongue stroked over her clit and then he was gone, the chill from the cave washing over her. Gwen’s finger dipped between her legs and she rubbed herself, not wanting the sensation of his tongue to stop. Lancelot’s hand cupped hers and moved it faster. She opened her eyes and stared into his eyes as he helped her pleasure herself. “I do not believe I’ve ever seen anything more wonderous than a woman unafraid to tend to her needs but I can assure, you there is no need for that.” His words nearly made Gwen come as he let go of her hand and replaced his finger there. “But there is only one way to make a woman come undone the first time, and that is with me buried deep inside of her.” Lancelot whispered against her ear. His finger vanished and Gwen groaned. When his hands were on her hips, he pulled her closer and onto his lap. Her legs splayed around him and when she brushed against his hard erection she looked down to it. Lancelot was built as she’d always imagined he would be. With the length and girth designed to fuck someone into sheer bliss with every stroke. Gwen allowed herself to trace her fingers up his shaft and grinned when it seemed to lean into her touch. Lancelot’s fingers returned to her body, spreading her folds as his other hand guided his cock to her entrance. She wasn’t certain who’s noise of pleasure echoed in her ears but Gwen knew she was not going to last more than a few seconds with Lancelot. Their position was intimate, her breasts crushed against his impressive body, and Gwen let herself kiss Lancelot again. It was gentle, and she wondered if Lancelot strove to drive her made with slow and lazy strokes or if he would take her with the swiftness she craved. When his hands went around her back to lift her and his hips bucked she swore the world collapsed around her. Her hands threaded in his hair as their bodies rocked together. Every thrust of their bodies together drew his impressive length against her g-spot and over her clit. The room spun as she tried to keep her eyes locked with Lancelot’s, but a third thrust drew them shut. Her body screamed for more, her body slapping against Lancelot’s as he did in fact take her slowly. “There is no rush,” he spoke against her lips. “I am going to do this to you until you cannot move without feeling the memory of me.” The words threw her over the edge as he claimed her verbally in a way no man had ever done. “That’s it,” he purred and his thrusts began to speed up. Gwen’s entire thought process blurred to nothing as Lancelot continued to fuck her even as she exploded with an orgasm. “Lance,” she huffed, her hips going wildly against his. “I like that version of my name on your lips.” His tongue thrust inside her mouth and Lancelot shifted, laying her on her back. “I’m going to appreciate it even more it’s screamed.” He gave her what she wanted as he gripped her shoulders and drove into her harder than any man ever. Gwen writhed on the bed, another orgasm already surfacing despite the closeness of the first. Her entire body trembled under his control until she did scream his name. Seconds later he pulled out, her name a similar cry on his lips. Gwen lay there, trembling from the intensity of the pleasure and tried to thank him for pulling free but couldn’t. Raise your hand if you love Camelot?Growing up, many girls dream of being princesses and boys dream of knights (I imagine some dream of being king too lol). For me, I don't remember caring about being king or queen. I remember wanting a knight of my own...and a sorcerer because who wouldn't want magic on their side? As I grew up reading and watching retellings of Canterbury Tales, it became abundantly clear to me that I did not want to choose. I 100% wanted all the knights, toss in Merlin and add Arthur for good measure. I personally thought Gwen choose wrong though, with the bulk of my adoration going to Lancelot. While on my third or fourth rewatch of BBC's Merlin this winter it hit me, I didn't have to choose because I could have a heroine who didn't have to. I could retell the story with a different heroine, with darker villains, and without choosing which man because they all had wonderful reasons to pick them. So, Nights in Camelot was born! I've been fairly secretive with this series, mostly because I cherish it so already, but also because RH doesn't normally sit under the "high fantasy" or "retelling" vibe check. So here I am, doing what I do best, and mixing it all together simply because I want too (and the characters agree). The importance of taking a break is one that I think most authors ignore. we get so wrapped up in the characters, we forget that hopping from story to story and world to world will always cause a burn out. That burn out will look different for everyone. It’s taken me 5 years of writing to realize what it looks like for me. thoigh I first wrote in second grade, writing to publish only began in 2015. I was so stoked I just kept going. The ideas came and came, and my publisher continued to accept them. it wasn’t until late spring 2020 when I became sick with my mystery illness that I took my first break. I couldn’t write. I was terrified every day over why I couldn’t swallow. The characters were there, but even if there was some free time without doctors and surgeries, there wasn’t the mental time. like all indie authors and small businesses, I needed a break. Unfortunately, the break all but vanished my career. I had 40ish books published, but with no marketing on my part and no releases I became invisible. My anxiety grew, and I wondered if I’d ever publish again because it’s incredibly expensive. Yes, I could suck it up and start querying, but I’ve become accustomed to instant publishing and (mostly) full control. fortunatley, we know I’m not dying or in severe danger, and so in late 2021 I began to write again. Starting back up opened up a flood gate. From November 2021 until today I’ve written: 2 full lengths, 2 novellas, and 5 shorts. so where does my point about burnout come in? I’m the last 23 days I’ve only written 15k. I love the story I’m writing - it’s a less written genre for myself and I was excited by the outline. I’m not super busy at home - but spring sports are in session. My husband still doesn’t grump when I say I need to write instead of something else if I’m deadline. So what happened? I burned myself out. I no longer want to sit down and type. I want to be outside playing with my son, seeing movies, making memories. I want to tell the story, but the drive to have to type it out has poofed. Am I blocked? Not at all. I hear Annika and Connor shouting at me a ton. I just keep ignoring them. at the end of the day, I needed a break. I hopped between too many different worlds too quickly, and spent too much time in front of the screen. Burn out will look different for everyone. It will last differently for everyone. More importantly, it will impact releases differently. im fortunate this book isn’t due to readers (arc readers) until May 20. So there’s a month for my to get my bum in gear, or I can even skip ARC readers. so why am I rambling? Is it because it’s been a month since I blogged? No. It’s because there’s immense pressure on authors to pump out work quickly. It can cause burn out, poor stories, and so much more. authors, even trad pub, have to do so much on their own. It’s a constant worry that we’ll fall into the cracks. Please be patient if your favorite author it’s not making TikToks or has to push a release a tiny bit. What does burn out look like for you? How do you find your groove again?
I'm going to tackle a sensitive topic today - for myself and for others I've spoken to. It doesn't just affect authors, but honestly any small business. It can be hard to talk about, because in a sense, it admits to failure on some level. Let’s talk about the reason why so many authors - myself included - struggle to make ends meet with their author career. Is it crummy book covers? Nope. Is it poorly edited (or not edited) stories? Nope. Is it a lack of marketing money? Nope. Is it a lack of talent? Nope. Don’t get me wrong, the above can contribute to failing careers, but at the end of the day the key metric all struggling authors experience is a lack of support. But I can’t afford to buy books all the time!Support has very little to do with a monetary value. Support that most small businesses need right now is "moral" support. Support is taking time to click like on a post, to comment on it, to share it, because that viral reach could put your friend in front of new readers. Support is offering to review (and actually following through) which costs you nothing but time, and if you’re already a reader you get free books! Support is chatting with other book people about your friend’s new book. Support is sending them a text or DM on release day to give them little congrats because writing a book takes a metric fuck ton of work. I can post about the stupidest thing on my author and personal Facebook/Instagram and get engagement and comments. The minute I post about my books, it’s almost utter radio silence unless it’s a huge accomplishment. Here, check it out. I post book stuff maybe once every 3 days, so it’s not a flooded thing either for those that might think “authors just shove too move in your face”. This goes for authors, too. Other authors are not your competition. I cannot tell you how many authors I support simply because I love them and their work. Because kindness matters and if they thrive, that’s awesome! Together, we can reach new readers, more readers, and maybe stop the author from permanently closing the laptop on their dream career. But you always act like you’re doing awesome.Of course I do - fake it till you make it. It hurts and drags me down every single release day when I barely make it into double digit sales - and I do have those double digits every release, but sometimes it’s hard and other times I skyrocket past. It’s gut wrenching anytime I post looking for a quick share or a like because I know next to no one is going to take the time, which means I look unsupported and therefore not worth a chance to new readers. It's insanely expensive to be an author. Roughly $800 per book and 95% of us do not make that back. We fund it with our day job. We skip new shoes or fund snacks because our dream is worth it. We spend time writing we could otherwise be out or with our family. We won’t all make it. We won’t all be quality worthy of making it, but a simple show of support could pull us from our darkest days when looking ahead to decide if the next book might be our last. Isn't it possible your work just sucks?100% a possibility. However, when I have been able to reach new readers, I've gotten amazing reviews, inboxes telling me how much they loved something, and sometimes, (hopefully) new book friends! So yes, I may suck. It's entirely possible, but it's unlikely given the response when my work is looked at by new readers. I’ve got a challenge for you 2022 If you’ve got an author (or any small business owner really) on your social media feed, don’t scroll past that post. Give it a thumbs up. Maybe even comment. Offer your community to share just for a single. Maybe skip a coffee or fast food meal to buy a single one of their books. You never know what you’ll find.
When all your hopes begin in the sky...
In early 2016 I began writing The Race. It was everything I'd dreamed I'd get to write in steampunk - an action adventure romance that took place almost entirely on an airship. Unfortunately, all the complications from my pregnancy left me unable to write from about February until my son was born at the end of May.
Then, we moved to New Orleans. The next thing I knew, my publisher had deadlines for me. I finally felt well enough, but I was unable to continue The Race due to other needs. Fast forward three years. it's now 2019. I booked a cover with the fantastic Illustrated Author. I did this with the hope that I'd fall in love with it and push other projects off to get back to The Race. She did not disappoint!
Unfortunately, in April 2020, my swallowing condition began. I couldn't write ... anything. Despite not having answers, it wasn't the only thing draining my creativity. Aidan was home from March 2020 - September 2021 and my day job stepped up to almost 60 hours a week.
January 2022 came and I knew what I had to do. I had to prioritize the story and characters I'd left behind. And I did! The Race had only 18,000 words written when I stopped and I added 62,000 words in just 26 days. Rose and Wyatt couldn't be stopped and I'm so excited they are finally here. Their journey was 6 years in the making, but it's finally here!
When all your hopes begin in the sky.
The world is not what it once was, but Rose cannot seem to convince her mother of that. Steam powered airships, mechanical carriages, and a far less constricting type of fashion are not enough to free Rose from her mother's hand. Headed toward London and a suitor she's never met, all Rose wants to do is captain the airship her father left her upon his death. While not impossible in the new world order, it's certainly not fathomable to her antiquated mother. In order to live her dream, Rose will have to take matters into her own hands. Two tragedies left Wyatt nearly destitute and an emotional rogue. When he hears of the big race that could win him a title and land, he's ready to push life savings on the line. Unfortunately, he had no ship of his own and no way to enter, until he meets the beautiful Rose. Their only hope of seeing both their dreams become a reality is each other. From London to Paris and more, the duo must trust in one another if they are to win the race. Trust comes with quite a cost as adventure can easily turn deadly and losing the race isn't all they have to worry about. See what early reviewers are saying about The Race!
Last month, I posted a fun video to TikTok that was playfully poking at how insane my writing calendar is for the next 2 years - because I'm determined to get all these crazy characters out of my head. I also shared the video across my other social platforms because I thought it was a good way for readers to understand what goes into the books. Now, my process is a lot faster than most because I'm fortunate enough to be an uber quick typer who essentially hears my stories in my head all day long so they spill out when I sit down for a few hours after work.
Want to see it?
I figured I'd get some quick comments on it, people would have a laugh at how crazy my goals are, and that would be the end of it.
What actually happened was A LOT of authors asked me where I got the template. Well, I made it. There were actually 6 different iterations of it because I kept forgetting what I wanted to include/kept realizing other filters would be helpful later on.
This thing might look small, but the columns have custom dropdowns and a lot of coding in the backend. Plus, it's helped me stay on track A TON as I work through my lofty goals. Something about having it down on paper helps. Plus, since it's digital, if I get into trouble and absolutely have to shift a date here and there - so long as it's not release of course - I can! When I've said I made it, a lot asked me for the file. So, I went ahead and created a blank template!
I also added a book cover field since some people aren't cover whores like me and buy them before they start.
You will need to either save a copy to your drive or download a copy to edit the fields. I suggest downloading a copy because it displays nicer!
Since I had a lot of bloggers reaching out to me for ways to organize their TBRs, I created one for them, too!
Hope these can help you rock your reading and writing goals in the future!
